Dr. Hernan Penagos Giraldo was appointed National Registrar of Colombia, effective 6 December 2023, for four year term. Dr. Hernan Penagos, with a distinguished career in public service and extensive knowledge in the legal and administrative field, assumes this essential position with a commitment to strengthening our institutions and the democratic system of Colombia.
Dr. Penagos has held high-level positions, including the presidency of the House of Representatives in the National Congress of Colombia, and as Magistrate of the National Electoral Council (CNE) occupied the presidency as well. he is a lawyer specializing in Administrative Law and Public Utility Service, having studied at the Universities of Caldas and Externado de Colombia.
