to the Constitution of the Republic of China, the President is the head of
state. The President represents the country in foreign relations and at state
functions. All actions are conducted in the President's name, including command
of the armed forces, promulgation of laws and decrees, declaration of martial
law (with the approval or confirmation of the Legislative Yuan), appointment
and removal of civil servants and military officers, conferring of honors and
decorations, granting of amnesties and pardons, remission of sentences,
restitution of civil rights, as well as the conclusion of treaties and the
declaration of war and cease-fires. The President is directly elected by the
entire populace of the free area of the Republic of China. The Executive Yuan
is the nation's highest administrative body, and the premier is directly
appointed by the President. Executive Yuan meetings, chaired by the President
of the Executive Yuan, decide on major policies and propose laws, budgets,
martial law, amnesties, declarations of war, peace treaties, and other
significant matters to the Legislative Yuan. The Legislative Yuan is the
country's highest legislative body. The Legislative Yuan may file a motion of
no-confidence against the President of the Executive Yuan, and the Executive
Yuan may, in turn, request that the President dissolve the Legislative Yuan.

1. Legislators are elected in three different ways. 73 seats are district legislators elected by single-member districts. 34 seats are legislators-at-large seats, elected by party votes. The remaining 6 are indigenous legislators, elected by SNTV.
2. Female seats are reserved by the constitution and laws in Taiwan. In legislators at large elections: half of the seats shall be female. For local councilors: Out of every four elected officials in each electoral district, at least one must be female. female shares nearly 40% of seats in Parliament.

· Counting process
1. Manual Count in Polling Station: take each ballot out of the box one by one consecutively, and display it to the attending public witnesses.
2. After the township electoral operation centers receive the voter result from the polling stations, the data will be entered into a centralized computing system.
3. The Counting and Information Center for Election provides real-time election results to the public.
4. The public could check up-to-date polling counts through the CEC’s website on election Day
