[Bosnia and Herzegovina] CEC Sets Stage for Local Elections in 2024 |

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in its 21st session held on May 8, 2024, announced the schedule and details for the upcoming local elections, which are slated for Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The elections will span across Bosnia and Herzegovina, encompassing 58 Municipal Councils in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 53 Municipal Assemblies in Republika Srpska, 111 municipal mayors, 21 City Councils in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 10 City Assemblies in Republika Srpska, 31 city mayors, and the Assembly of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
To ensure representation,
guaranteed seats for national minorities are provided in 21 municipalities for
23 candidates. In total, the elections will elect 3,200 councilors and 143
city/municipal mayors.
The estimated cost for
organizing these elections is BAM 19 million. As
of May 7, 2024, there are 3,406,088 registered voters, according to the Central Voters’ Register.
