At the end of 2023, after the audit process, the CEC completed the publication of the annual financial reports of political parties for the years 2021 and 2022, as well as the campaign financial statements of the parliamentary and local elections held in 2021.

which: 48 annual financial reports of political parties for 2021; 51 annual
financial reports of political parties for 2022; 27 campaign financial
statements reports for the Elections for the Assembly of Kosovo in 2021 and 89
reports campaign financial statements reports for the Local Elections in 2021.
According to the legislation, the audit of financial reports is
done by the auditors through an open public competition selected by the Office
for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities operating
within the CEC. The selection of auditors has returned to CEC as a legal
responsibility in 2022 with the changes in the law on the financing of
political entities.
In order to increase transparency and accountability to the
public, during the past years the CEC has continuously published annual
financial reports and campaign financial statements even when they have not
been audited.
Based on the legislation in force, all registered political parties are obliged to submit their annual financial reports by March 1 of each year, while after each election, competing political entities must submit their campaign financial statements no later than 45 days after Election Day.
