A WEB

The A-WEB Secretariat announces that the election of the next Vice-Chair will take place at the 7th General Assembly, to be held in October 2026 in Manila, Philippines. At that time, the current Vice-Chair, the Commission on Elections of the Philippines (COMELEC), will assume the role of Chair of A-WEB.

In accordance with Article 17 of the A-WEB Charter, only A-WEB member Election Management Bodies (EMBs) are eligible to apply for this office-bearer position. The Vice-Chair serves as one of the key institutional leadership positions of A-WEB and is expected to assume the Chairmanship upon completion of the term. The selected institution will also host the 8th General Assembly in 2028.

Member EMBs interested in the position are invited to submit an application and a letter of commitment to the Secretariat by 31 July 2026 (end of day). The application should demonstrate the institution’s strategic vision for A-WEB, its capacity to contribute to the Association’s mission, and its readiness to undertake the responsibilities associated with hosting and leadership succession.

The Vice-Chair institution will be expected to actively engage with the Secretariat and participate in the governance activities of A-WEB, including meetings of the Executive Board and the General Assembly. It will also assume responsibilities as Acting Chair when required and, upon completion of its term, transition to the role of Chair of A-WEB.

The position is institutional in nature and remains binding regardless of any change in leadership within the organization.
