-  8 am and 4 pm respectively

· Number of registered voters: 7,315,364 (2019 election)

· Voter turnout: 88,31% (2019 presidential election)

· Voting age: 18

Presidential: Directly elected, majority system in second-round system

Chamber of Deputies

  1. 70 elected in single member districts using First-past-the-post voting (FPTP) system. 

  2. 53 additional elected using closed list proportional representation. 

  3. Remaining seven seats are reserved for indigenous seats elected by the usos y costumbres, using FPTP.

- Senators: Four from each of the 9 departments elected through closed party-lists, using D’Hondt method 

- Judiciary elections

  1. Candidates pass through two pre-selection processes and one election. 

  2. Direct vote using FPTP

 

· Voting process: Verify voter identification document -> Receive ballot paper -> Mark the ballot paper

 

· Counting process 

  1. Manual Count in Polling Station: take each ballot out of the box one by one consecutively, and display it to the attending public witnesses.

  2. Data is sent to the National Data Center(Centro Nacional de Datos) and are also published on the OEP website, accessible to the public. 

  3. The members of the TED issue the official Tabulation Record (Acta de Computo Departamental)
