 Election system 

 · Number of polling stations: 12,378

 · Opening and closing time of polling stations

  -  8 am and 4 pm respectively

 · Number of registered voters: 6,683,043 (2019)

 · Voter turnout: 66.27% (2019 presidential election)

 - Presidential: Majority system

 - Parliamentary: Simple majority winner takes all in multi-candidate constituencies. The proportional representation part of the system elects involves 60 seats. Based on the total number of valid ballots cast, candidates are elected from the relevant lists in proportion to the number of quotas filled.

 - Local elections : proportional representation

 

 · Voting process 

   1. The officers verify that he/she is registered in the voter’s list 

   2. Ballots of paper are given as well as envelope. 

   3. Place the candidate of his/her choice in the envelope and put the envelope in the ballot box. 

 

 · Counting process 

   1. Manual Count in Polling Station: take each ballot out of the box one by one consecutively, and display it to the attending public witnesses.

   2. Results are announced at various stages. 

   3. The local results are posted on the door of the polling station by the President of the polling station. 

   4. The results are conveyed to the National Committee for the Counting of Votes.
