The National Electoral Council is the governing body of the Electoral Power, responsible for the transparency of electoral processes and referenda; guarantees Venezuelans, the efficient organization of all electoral acts carried out in the country and in particular the clarity, fairness and credibility of these processes and their results to raise and sustain the prestige of the electoral institution. It has the noble purpose to keep alive in citizens the affection for democracy, as the most suitable system for peaceful coexistence in society.
Mission:
Act
as the governing body of the Electoral Power, it is in charge of
the organization, administration and supervision of all acts relating to
elections to be held at the national, regional, municipal and parish level. The
National Electoral Board, the Committee on Civil and Electoral Register
the
Commission on Political Participation and Financing act as subordinate bodies,
guaranteeing and preserving the franchise as a genuine expression of the will of
the people and creative source of public authorities.
Vision:
It
will be the apex of a modern and independent electoral organization whose rules,
structure, procedures and systems optimize the execution and control of
electoral processes and referenda, through the support of a team of officials
with broad careers and electoral expertise and using the
most advanced technologies and the principles of transparency and respect for
the will of the electorate it runs elections in high quality. The
organization ranks as an important referent in the organization of elections in
Latin America.
