Territorial elections will be held in the Republic of Colombia on October 29, 2023. Governors, mayors, deputies, councilors and Local Administrative Boards (JAL) members will be elected. The National Civil Registry (RNEC) promotes activities to increase the stability and transparency of the electoral process. One of them is the International Technical Assistance, with approximately 60 experts in the electoral and IT fields convened by the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH) and the Center for Electoral Assistance and Promotion (CAPEL), accompanying the pre-electoral, electoral and post-electoral stages, offering their knowledge to improve and strengthen the procedures involved in the electoral process.
The experts have visited different points of the selected cities to question those in charge of pre-electoral, electoral, and post-electoral stages, to get a better picture of the electoral event, and to present a technical report at the end of the visit.
The following schedule of visits to different cities in Colombia was established:
The International Affairs Office is in charge of the logistics of the International Technical Assistance. Therefore, an official of said office coordinates each trip to the cities of the Colombian territory. The International Technical Assistance provides transparency and improves the technical, operational, and human aspects of the 2023 elections. |
