Pursuant to its Charter and in pursuit of its goals, A-WEB plans to run several programs in 2014.
Training Programs to Build the Capacity of Election Management Bodies
Purpose: to strengthen the capacity of EMBs and improve cooperative relations among election stakeholders
Invitees: election officials, legislative officials, electoral ICT officials, etc. (330 people in total)
Main contents of the program:
- to provide information to improve election laws and systems
- to provide education on election management techniques
- to provide education on how to develop and operate election-related programs,
such as:
· advanced technologies, for instance, voter registration devised via biometric technologies
· computation programs to increase voter's access to information on candidates
· options in electronic voting/counting equipment and training on how to operate them
How to run training programs
- to be tailored to the professional areas of trainees
- to consist of discussions, case studies, practical training, etc.
