The delegation of the A-WEB Secretariat, Mr. CY Lee, Director General, Ms. Rita TR Lee, deputy director of the training and publicity department participated in the international observation program on the early presidential election in response to the invitation from the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The A-WEB Delegation attended the 1st meeting of the advisory council of the representatives of Election Management Bodies of CIS on July 8 in Tashkent city. They made a presentation about A-WEB, projects, and programs implemented by the A-WEB Secretariat. The delegation of the A-WEB Secretariat shared their experiences with member EMBs. The delegation also participated in the briefing sessions on the early presidential election of Uzbekistan, delivered by the CEC, the Ministry of digital technologies, and the Ministry of internal affairs.
They had a chance to take a whole picture of the Uzbekistan electoral system, visiting some polling places in the cities of Samarkand and Tashkent. They saw the electoral procedures, including voter identification, voting, counting, and announcing the preliminary voting result.
