   · Opening and closing time of polling stations

    -  7 am and 1 pm respectively

   · Number of registered voters: 190,770,329 (2019 election)

   · Voter turnout: 82.83% (2019 presidential election)

   · Voting age: 17

  - Presidential: Absolute majority vote. A candidate pair must be nominated by a party or coalition with at least 20 percent of seats in the Direct Party and Representative (DPR) or that won at least 25 percent of votes in the last DPR election.

  - Parliamentary

    1. Regional Representative Council: Single nontransferable vote.

    2. House of Representatives: Open list proportional representation in multi-member constituencies.

 

  · Voting process

    1. Punch a hole in the ballot paper next to a candidate’s name. 

    2. Dip their finger in indelible ink to make sure no one votes more than once. 

 

  · Counting process

    1. Count the votes in public at each polling station: holding up every ballot paper so witnesses can see the sunlight shining through where the nail has been punched. 

    2. General Elections Commission of Indonesia (KPU) uploads the results from each polling station to its website.
