On 23 June, the A-WEB Secretariat had the first day of the 2021 Election Management Capacity Building Program with the topic of the Use of Media in Election Management. This 10-day training course held in a virtual setting ended on 2 July 2021.
Twenty-five officials from five election management bodies - the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, the Office of the Electoral Commissioner of Mauritius, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Kenya, the National Election Commission of Tanzania, the Elections Cameroon, and the General Election Commission of Mongolia - took part in the course. The participants explored best practices of making use of media in electoral processes and strategies for developing effective and professional relationships with media.
