The A-WEB Secretariat will organize its first online course: Election Management Capacity Building Program of 2020 on ‘Social Media and Election Management Bodies’ from October 20 to 28 via Zoom and Google Classroom. This course is conducted under the Republic of Korea’s ODA program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Secretariat has decided to offer an online course for the first time since it started providing trainings in 2016. The program will gather election officials from five countries: Cambodia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Uzbekistan. Participants will have an opportunity to share the current status of social media utilization in their country and develop strategies for more effective use of social media. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across the globe, the A-WEB Secretariat is committed to providing information and good practices by organizing online courses so that member EMBs can gain knowledge and experience, which will, in turn, contribute to the improvement of election management.
