IT Service Management(ITSM) Training Program for Election Officials

A-WEB had promoted "IT Service Management Training"

For the ICT officials from the Election Management Bodies  of Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea

and provided customized lectures on systematic methodology of Electoral ICT management. 

 

The Association of World Election Bodies (hereinafter referred to as "A-WEB”)  provides  “IT Service Management (ITSM) Training” for Election Officials of Fijian Elections Office, Samoan Office of the Electoral Commission, and Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission from November 11 to 19th.

 

The training program aims to enhance the election manager's ability to operate ICT systems and electoral procedure appropriated to their countries.

 

 

 

The participants made mention that the lectures and hands-on training for IT service management expert were a great opportunity to analyze SWOT of their IT management environment, and also appreciated to the A-WEB Secretariat and Korean government. The officials from Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission showed strong willingness to apply various knowledges to their work with the aim of receiving a national certification related to the IT Service Management.

 

The participants' level of understanding had been increased from 2.00 points(pre-evaluation) and 4.28 points(post-evaluation), while resulting in high satisfaction rating 4.83 out of 5 on average. In addition, a number of participants requested for a opportunity to discuss the improvements or problems after applying the IT service management to their countries.

 

As the IT officials from three countries from South Pacific Region participated in the ITSM training program, they will contribute to spread of the electoral democracy of the pacific island by building strong ties with one another.
