A seminar on “The Challenges in Indonesia Election 2019” was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 16, 2019 . Mr. SeungRyeol Kim, Advisor to Secretary General of A-WEB, participated in the seminar as a speaker to give a presentation on “Campaign Finance in Asian Countries” and mainly introduce the Political Party and Political Funds System of South Korea.
The details of the presentation are as follows. ① Prevent the maximization of political influence of profit organization with the prohibition of donation by corporate and labor union - Ensure transparency with the principle of donations by real names - Publication principle of incomes and expenditures of party and candidates ② Types of Political Funds
③ Spreading small scale donation culture through tax refund and deduction from taxable income
④ Purpose of introduction of ceiling on donation
⑤ Difference in distribution of government subsidy - Distribution on the ratio of number of votes obtained in elections - Distribution on the ratio of population of constituency and number of party seats - Distribution on the ratio to encourage female and disabled candidates’ nominations
⑥ Freedom and responsibility of Political Fundraising Association activity

Mr. SeungRyeol Kim participated a session as the representatives of A-WEB, and also give a in-depth presentation on Political Funds System. All participants had a discussion on a wide range of issues of the Campaign Finance in Asian Countries.
