The ‘Fijian Elections Office Information Security Training’, led by the Project Department of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) in FEO, was held from 8th of March to 15th of March for 13 FEO IT personnel.

These are the comments by participants from the Information Security Training of Fiji Election Office (FEO). 

This training was conducted not only to improve the Information Security area, but also to provide the utmost post management of the existing 2017 Project. Ultimately, this training was meant to provide sources for the establishment of secure and consistent electoral environment of Fiji such as through reviewing the latest trend of Information Security & infringement cases, training of user PC, network and web service, and building up method of ISMS based on ISO 27001.

This training program was divided into 2 groups based on each career and initiated for 3 days. For the utmost efficiency of the program, pre-evaluation was conducted and post-evaluation as well as satisfaction survey were also conducted to examine the project’s outcome.

Result of 155% Increase

According to the result of the post-evaluation, both groups earned 4 out of 5 and this is spectacular outcome, compared to the early period of the training, where both groups earned 2 out of 5. From its outcome, it is noticeable that the points were increased up to 155% and it tells a fact that all participants has acquired tremendous knowledge from the training.

The result of satisfaction survey was also marked with high scores, 4.6 out of 5, which tells that every participant has satisfied with the contents of the lectures and the entire program.

As technology continues to be advanced, the information security field requires consistent management, including the improvement of system vulnerabilities. In this sense, this training project is expected to bring the synergy effect as it combines with the past 2017 project.
