The Consultation Meeting for establishing Democracy and Election Education Program(DEEP) took place on 27th to 29th October 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Consultation Meeting was co-hosted by the Electoral Supervisory Body(BAWASLU) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Asian Network for Free Elections(ANFREL). Election Management Bodies(EMBs), academic institutions, civil society organizations, and election-related international organizations gathered to share ideas and good electoral practices on the election training programs. The Association of World Election Bodies(A-WEB) participated in the Forum as a speaker to give a presentation on ANFREL-AWEB Collaboration on Democracy and Election Education Program.

Mr. Ohtaek Kim, Mr. Seungryeol Kim and Ms. Hyunkyung Noh visited Electoral Supervisory Body(BAWASLU) as the representatives of A-WEB to have a meeting with chairperson Abhon and commissioners and discussed mutual cooperation in the coming future. Moreover, the Electoral Supervisory Body submitted an application to officially sign up for the membership of A-WEB.

The representatives of A-WEB also visited the Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia on 29th October to discuss some issues and challenges of upcoming Presidential Election and General Election in Indonesia. The Meeting was a good opportunity for A-WEB to strengthen its network with Election Commission in Indonesia.
